Job Description
Responsible for data development, analysis, and modeling for all aspects of MSC electronic commerce initiatives. Develops insights based upon in-depth review of metrics and turns these into actionable recommendations. Utilizes in house web and offline analytical tools to design, develop and interpret daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly views of MSC’s eCommerce platforms, commonly known as “dashboards”. Responsible for measuring, identifying, and communicating trends in areas such as site health, marketing programs, internal search, and customer behavior metrics through various segmentation techniques. Responsible for measuring and analyzing all aspects of internal and external search behavior. Defines and analyzes metrics to measure and enhance on-site search term performance. Defines and manages analysis to create data-driven insights about search engine visitor behavior (both organic and pay-per-click) on order volume, conversion rates, navigation behavior, and product selection. Integrates agency reports with internal data to measure and forecast sales and ROI for SEO and SEM projects. Works with the internal search optimization team to provide insight on specific static landing page performance including, but not limited to, entry and exit metrics, conversions, and upstream and downstream click analysis. Responsible for holding periodic reviews of these metrics where insights and trends will be presented to senior eCommerce management. Responsibilities include both on-site and off-site web analytics. On-site analytics may measure a visitor’s behavior once they are on our website. Off-site analytics pertain to measurements of our website’s potential audience, visibility, and share of market. Able to utilize and combine data sets from each source. Analyzes web analytics data as well as other offline data to monitor website performance (e.g. customer experience, fall out points, customer demographics & trends, etc.). Participates in website projects as a measurement and analytics expert, identifying reporting requirements, creating and managing report implementation, and analyzing post-launch metrics. Develops analysis to discover underperforming areas of the website to identify opportunities to improve site performance. Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission. Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field or equivalent work experience is required. Minimum of five years experience in a related ecommerce role is required. Must have experience in eCommerce analysis.
Experience with a web analytics tool is required. Ability to work independently and creatively is required. Excellent analytical and planning and prioritization skills are required. Advanced skills with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Access. Familiarity with statistical and analytical techniques including trend analysis, forecasting, and modeling. Excellent oral and written communications skills are required.
