Working at Walgreens

Working at Walgreens: In 1901 Charles Walgreen, Sr. opened his first drugstore on a Chicago corner. Within 12 years, a dozen stores were in operation, with lunch counters, soda fountains and stocking company made products so that Walgreen could control quality and price. The company continued to expand in the 20's and 30's, doing well during prohibition in part by selling bootleg liquor under the counter. Today Walgreens operates in all 50 states, with 7500 stores and revenues of over $60 billion per year.
